Nero d'Avola is the most widely planted red grape in Sicily, and the refined, modern, sophisticated versions that have been produced in recent years have made the variety one of the stars of the island and of Italian wine in general. Showing dark fruit, cherry, oak spice and a hint of chocolate, this wine is perfect for meaty stews or mushroom burgers.
