Dark and imposing, the 2019 Conero Riserva Campo San Giorgio tempts the imagination. Violette pastille and a dusting of confectionary spice complement wild blueberries. This is surprisingly racy and sleek, with a wave of sour cherry and ripe blackberry lifted by cooling acidity. Tart citrus and minerals slowly saturate the senses, leaving a cheekpuckering tension. The 2019 tapers off tremendously long and structured for a long, steady evolution. Campo San Giorgio is back to form in the 2019 vintage. Well done. Drinking window: 2025-2031.
