Tasting Notes

The 2006 Pinotage has a much more intense and opulent bouquet than the preceding 1989 and 1999, with copious black cherries, blueberry, orange pith and floral scents. This is well-defined and focused. The palate has an impressive balance with saturated, pliant tannins. It's a little more peppery than older vintages, with brown spice and a nuanced curry leaf note emerging towards the finish. This 2006 Pinotage is in a sweet spot. Drinking window: 2023-2035.
