Tasting Notes
Simply spectacular. Profuse aromas of blackberry and plum, scented with rose petals, peonies, liquorice, spice and salty mineral notes. The texture is opulently rich on the initial attack, but has a formidable amount of tannin and structure behind it. Should age forever. This half-hectare parcel was planted between 1931-1934. It is located on the southern portion of Les Richebourgs just above DRC. Liger Belair ferments one-third of the fruit as whole clusters with a very gentle extraction, using limited punch-downs and a three week cuvaison. Drinking window: 2025-2070.
