Tasting Notes

The white 2022 Fuentenebro Albillo Mayor was selected from 18 hectares of old vines, mostly on limestone soils and mostly in the zone of Soria and in higher-altitude vineyards in Burgos, individual vines intermixed with the reds in the vineyards. It fermented in concrete with indigenous yeasts and matured in used 228-liter French oak barrels for 11 months with partial malolactic. It has a primary, fruit-driven profile that is fresh and lively, without aromatic influence from the barrels. It has notes of white fruit and flowers, fennel and aromatic herbs and a tasty palate with a salty twist in the finish. It has contained ripeness and 12.9% alcohol, with a very low pH of 2.87 and 5.8 grams of acidity. It was bottled in September 2024. Drink date: 2025-2031.
