The deep blue-slate soils of the Mosel are famous for imparting a stony minerality to the Rieslings of the region. This soil absorbs daytime heat and slowly releases it over a long period of time, which is ideal for Germany's cool climate. This racy wine shows nervy aromas of kaffir lime, sugared lemon, beeswax, and dried apricot, with a touch of diesel.
