Tasting Notes

From coralline limestone soils and bottled in late April, the 2017 Ried Flamberg Morillon - G STK - is pure, cool and reductive on the nose. Aged on the full lees for nearly one year in large oak vats, this is a lush, highly elegant, intense and persistent Morillon with ripe and concentrated, lemon-fresh fruit and lingering salty grip. A fascinating, great wine with so much tension and mineral vitality. Fabulous and a duty to buy. The wine was vinified in old and oval-shaped ten- and 25-hectoliter vats. Drink date: 2020-2050.
